Terms of Use
Effective October 20, 2026
These terms apply to the Hover app for iOS ("Hover", "the app") and this website. By downloading or using Hover, you agree to them. If you obtained Hover through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
A study aid, not the test
Hover is a study and planning aid only. Its questions are original wording based on public FAA material; they are not actual FAA test questions, and the FAA does not publish its questions or answer keys. Passing a practice exam in Hover is not a prediction or guarantee of passing the FAA Unmanned Aircraft General knowledge test. Readiness scores are estimates based on your answers in the app.
Not for operational use
Preflight Check, the METAR decoder and the Flight Log are planning aids. They are not a substitute for 14 CFR Part 107, current NOTAMs, airspace authorization, an official weather briefing, or your own judgment. Twilight times are computed from your location and may differ from official sources. As remote pilot in command, you are solely responsible for the legal and safe conduct of every flight and for keeping your own records of training and registration.
License
Hover is licensed to you, not sold, for personal use on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the app or its question bank except as permitted by law.
Purchases and subscriptions
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks full access permanently on your Apple account.
- Monthly and Yearly plans auto-renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel them anytime in your device Settings under your Apple account subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- The Yearly plan may include a free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged the yearly price. The trial is available once per Apple account.
- All billing, receipts, and refunds are handled by Apple. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices are shown in your local currency in the App Store and may change; changes never apply retroactively to a completed purchase.
Content and sources
Questions, explanations and figures are built from public-domain United States government material, including 14 CFR Parts 48, 89 and 107, FAA handbooks and advisory circulars, and the FAA Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement. The FAA does not endorse Hover. Regulations change; we update the content when they do, but the current regulation always controls.
Weather data
The METAR decoder fetches reports from the NOAA Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov), a third-party service we do not control. Weather data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable, and is provided as-is. It is not a substitute for an official preflight weather briefing.
No warranty
Hover is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make the content correct, but we do not warrant that the app is error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Hover, including the outcome of any FAA test or decisions made in connection with flight operations. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
